Brunvoll wins contract for equipment package to container vessels for Royal Arctic Line

Brunvoll has signed a contract for complete propulsion, manoeuvring and control systems with Astilleros Zamakona S.A., Spain for two cargo/container vessels for the Greenland Nuuk-based Royal Arctic Line AS. Brunvoll system deliveries consist of gear- and cp propeller system, tunnel thrusters and complete control system. The propulsion system is a diesel-mechanical hybrid configuration with PTO/PTI for takeme-home running mode. The vessels will be carrying containers and general cargo in rough climate in Northwest Greenland, and the propulsion and manoeuvring systems are designed to meet requirements for high redundancy and Polar Code ice class.

«Brunvoll is proud to once again be selected by Royal Arctic Line for propulsion and manoeuvring systems for their fleet renewals, and we are looking forward to a good cooperation with Astilleros Zamakona to fulfil the contract», says Roar Slotsvik, EVP Sales & Marketing of Brunvoll Group. Brunvoll has earlier supplied similar equipment to the Ivalo Arctica and Minik Arctica delivered in 2016. The new vessels will have greater capacity than current vessels.
