Today we were visited by the President of China Cruise & Yacht Industry Association (CCYIA), together with other representatives from Chinese shipbuilding companies and organisations.

CCYIA is an organisation that works to promote the cruise and yacht industry in China. They purpose of their visit to Norway is to connect with Norwegian suppliers and to strengthen the collaboration between our two countries.

Today China welcomes around 3 million cruise tourists each year, with an estimated yearly growth of 40%. By 2026 they expect to welcome more that 10 million a year.  This makes a significant demand for cruise ships and several newbuilding projects are planned.

During the visit, we gave a presentation of NME and our members. Our goal with this meeting was to see if we can become a facilitator between our members and CCYIA. We also invited them to come visit us at the Team Norway Pavilion at Marintec in December. An invitation they gladly accepted.
