Between 2–5 December, NME hosted the largest Team Norway pavilion ever at Marintec China in Shanghai. The pavilion covered more than 730 square meters and brought together about 40 Norwegian companies, representing a broad range of the Norwegian maritime value chain. This year, Norway was honoured to be selected as Guest Country of Honor at the exhibition.
Ahead of the exhibition, NME organised a yard visit to Waigaoqiao Shipyard in Shanghai. The visit included a guided tour of the exhibition centre, a bus tour of the yard and a meeting with the shipyard’s management team. As part of the visit, the delegation was invited aboard Frontline’s newest vessel. the Sea Polaris, scheduled for delivery the same day.
The official opening of Marintec included a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Team Norway pavilion, opened by Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy, Ms. Marianne Sivertsen Næss. The ceremony was attended by representatives from Chinese and Norwegian authorities, including the Norwegian Ambassador to China, as well as industry leaders. Throughout the week, the pavilion received a high number of visitors, including a large VIP delegation as part of Norway’s role as Guest Country of Honor.
NME’s CEO Erlend Prytz participated in the opening press conference at Marintec, where he shared perspectives on the Norwegian maritime industry, innovation and long-standing cooperation between Norway and China within the maritime industry.
We would like to thank all participating companies, our partners, all visitors who stopped by the Team Norway pavilion, and the Marintec team for excellent cooperation and support throughout the week.
We look forward to returning to Marintec China in 2027.
