Recap of Nor-Shipping

We would like to extend our gratitude to all the exhibiting companies in our pavilion, without them the event would not have been so successful. Further, we would like to thank the Nor-Shipping team for arranging such a fantastic event, and our partners that helped us organizing the largest Team Norway pavilion ever at Nor-Shipping. The whole week was filled with enthusiasm, an optimistic mood, and brilliant sunshine every day which created a unique atmosphere both in Lillestrøm and Oslo.

It was a hectic week for all of us with many visitors, activities and networking events in our pavilion and social events in the evenings. To summarize, on Tuesday the Ship of the Year award was presented to the trawler “Ecofive”. The shipowner is Bluewild, she is designed by Ulstein Design and is being built at Westcon Yard. On Wednesday, we had our traditional Danish – Norwegian networking event in collaboration with the Danish pavilion. And on Thursday, we arranged for the first time an International Hall C Party together with the Danish, German and Dutch pavilions and with support from Nor-Shipping. The Neon Party Band kicked of the party with great music setting a fantastic party mood. It was wonderful to see so many enjoying themselves in the entire hall.

Several VIPs visited our pavilion. Among them was HRH Crown Prince Haakon, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, the Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy Bjørnar Skjæran, several members of the Parliament and CEO of Samsung Heavy Industries Jaytee Jung. Last but not least, there were a total of 30 000 visitors into the exhibition halls. In addition to the 108 companies in our pavilion, the number of exhibiting companies in total was around 890, and the total participant numbers was over 50 000 including those at conferences, networking events and official social gatherings. These figures do not include those attending the huge array of partner and exhibitor events in Oslo.
