Showcasing Norway in Miami

Norwegian Maritime Exporters (NME), in collaboration with Cruise Norway, is organizing the Norwegian pavilion at Seatrade Cruise Miami. To attract attention during the exhibition, arguably the epicentre of the cruise industry, there will be an abundance of Norwegian cuisine, an authentic Norwegian Viking, and a jumbo screen featuring spectacular images of the best nature experiences that Norway has to offer.

More than 50 Norwegian companies will make the trip across the Atlantic to attend Seatrade Miami from 9-11 April 2019.
Actor Brynjar Stautland from Bømlo on Norway’s southwest coast will be featured as the Viking. He is expected to provide popular photo-ops for selfie-loving American and international guests alike.

With 3.5 million passengers registered in 2018, cruise is important for Norwegian tourism, especially for cities and towns along the coast and in the fjords. The Norwegian pavilion at Seatrade will showcase the expertise and innovation that Norwegian companies have to offer, and promote Norway as one of the world’s best travel destinations.

“The exhibition in Miami is the largest in the cruise market. It is a very important arena for reaching out to customers, media and government officials. What is new this time is that we are going to showcase equipment, destinations, furniture and food together. It’s going to be a lot of fun to show people a larger selection of what Norway has to offer, ”says Inge Tangerås, general manager of Cruise Norway.

Norway is the world’s leading supplier of maritime technology and services to the cruise industry. Erlend Prytz, CEO of NME, believes that Norwegian companies are important for contributing to a more environmentally friendly industry.

“In Norway, we have an equipment industry that is innovative and forward-looking, with a strong focus on the green shift. They receive far too little attention from the public sector and the policy instruments. Norwegian equipment suppliers are very competitive and are known for delivering good quality and service. By attending this exhibition, we want to contribute to boosting these companies, which are also important for many of our districts,” says Prytz.
